Dan Aug

Dan Aug is a Uruguayan–Italian contemporary visual artist whose practice has developed for more than two decades at the intersection of painting, astronomy, cosmology, symbolism and the enduring human attempt to understand the universe.

His astronomical works do not seek to reproduce scientific imagery literally. Instead, astronomical phenomena become the conceptual foundations for highly material paintings in which energy, scale, time and cosmic transformation are translated into color, gesture and texture.
